Jihad against Extravagant Weddings

One of the biggest Jihads that one can do in a Pakistani society is to have a simple wedding according to Sunnah despite having the resources to spend lavishly according to the prevailing wrong customs. If enough of the rich people do this than it will become socially acceptable to have a simple Sunnah style wedding and will hopefully make it easy for the poor people.
In present circumstances, every wedding is an economic disaster for the poor and less resourceful in the society and all of us who organize and attend such spectacular weddings without raising a voice against this practice are culprits in this social evil.
