Afghan Migrants

I often see these views of people and even politicians, who talk about removing Afghanis from Pakistan and not letting them in. I feel ashamed and embarrassed that some of my countrymen have this barbarian mindset.

This is the epitome of selfishness –  The ultimate depth of human moral bankruptcy. Afghanis are at least our human and even more, Muslim Brothers . Instead of opening our arms to them, we are trying to close the doors.

We proudly talk about the migration of Prophet (PBUH) and the welcome given to them by the people of Madina. But in the same breath we chose to degrade the Afghan migrants and label all of them as terrorists and criminals. The materialistic mindset of the present day Muslim has completely taken over the heart and soul that Quran and Islam wants to instil in us.

It is an animal quality to be territorial where one animal will not let another animal come into its territory. To defend their territory and the resources in it, they will not even stop short of killing the infants of another animal. This mindset is not much different from those animals.

When people from one area migrate to another area fleeing war, disease, poverty, conflict or terrorism then humanity and Islam teaches us to have an open heart and help those people instead of shutting the doors like territorial animals. Similar situation happened when Syrian migrants started fleeing to Europe and they closed their doors. At that time a lot of people were commending the Turks for helping the Syrian refugees and condemning the Saudis for not being so helpful. But when it comes to sharing our own country and resources with Afghan migrants, we become apprehensive.

This a classic example of how Human societies generally and Muslim societies specially, have not much morals left in them. While Human race continues its progress in science and technology, they continue to regress in humanity, morals and ethics. ‪#‎HumanityInDecline‬
