Late General Hamid Gul

May Allah grant General Hamid Gul sahab, high status in Jannat ul Firdaus.

He was a brilliant strategist and a successful soldier who brought a super power to its knees. Not many warriors in the history of mankind have done that.

BUT!!!!

His strategies and his success resulted in an overall disadvantage for us. Pakistan and Pakistanis had to pay a great price for that.

Our foreign policy in the 80s and 90s was faulty. We did not think through about the consequences in our own country. We did not deal with the aftermath and we are still paying the price.

Those Nations will never rise who do not analyse and learn from their mistakes. We love our Army and we love our Soldiers. And that is why we want them to learn from their/our mistakes, so that we/they can become better.

To learn from the mistakes, it is imperative to first recognize them.

Wallahu Aalam.
